It’s that time of year where we are all encouraged to dress up as people, good or bad, who best embody our inner personalities. Halloween is a chance for adults to get silly, serious, scary, or sexy – which one were you? This year, our favorite celebrities went all out in their efforts to dazzle and amaze us. Kylie Jenner – Barbie
This Kardashian went all out by transforming as Barbie, box and all, to impress her fans. Sporting a tight pink outfit and styling her hair with flowing blonde hair, Jenner perfectly encapsulates what it is to be the famous doll. She even posed in a life-sized box for the perfect photo opportunity. Looking deadpan into the camera, the 21-year-old captures all our nostalgia as everyone’s favorite childhood toy. Did you ever have a Barbie doll growing up, and would you but this Jenner doll?
Beyonce – Toni Braxton
Beyonce transformed as Toni Braxton to recreate this famous album cover. Cleverly retitling the cover to say ‘Phoni Braxton’, Beyonce honors the reputation and style of the singer while making it her own. The short hair suits the popstar perfectly as she complements it will large, gold, earrings. The leather glove adds a sense of promiscuity and intrigue as it contrasts the white cotton being worn on her upper body. We imagine her choice of outfit will bring some new attention to Braxton.
Jane Krakowski – Barbarella
Here, the star of 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmit dazzled audiences with her bespoke outfit as Barbarella at the New York Restoration Project’s 22nd Annual Hulaween Event. She’s no stranger to wowing people with her outfits, and this one is no exception. The shining silver wrapped around her body revealed the perfect amount of flesh without becoming tasteless. The mature actress continues to wear fantastic clothes that amaze us as she tops it all off with a sophisticated smile at the camera.
Frankie Grande – The Cosmos
Right next to Krakowski was Frankie Grande dressing up as the entire Cosmos! Also at the Hulaween event, Ariana’s brother impressed viewers with his encompassing outfit that swirled shades of blue, pink, and purple. He even matched it with dazzling face make-up which almost made him invisible in front of the backdrop of the red carpet. It seems the event was the perfect chance to wear this dashing adverts. Bette Midler – A Shooting Star
Who better to dress as a shooting star on Halloween that Hollywood’s most glamorous star Bette Midler, herself? It appears there was quite the amazing theme at the New York Hulaween event since here she is appearing as something else that is ‘out of this world’. Her amazing hair is styled and sprayed to match the quick lightening of a shooting star that is flying through space, as well as the sparkles on her top. Special attention can be brought to her shoulders, which are spiked to add some character.
Camila Mendes and Lili Reinhart – Napolean Dynamite and Pedro
The stars of Riverdale pulled on everyone’s nostalgic heartstrings by appearing as Napolean Dynamite and Pedro from the 2004 film. Over the last 14 years, the film has earned itself a place as one of the biggest cult classics of our time, and this outfit is often a fan favorite for couples and BFFs. The two pose for this fantastic photo which perfectly captures the tone and style of the film, while also keeping their personalities on display for fans to enjoy.
Kendall Jenner – FemBot
Another Kardashian who wowed fans with her outfit was Kendall Jenner. She wore the sexy FemBot outfit from the Austin Powers franchise, made famous in 1997 by Mike Myers. The 22-year-old used pink suede gloves to match the frilly dress, sporting a large blonde wig. She perfectly captures the 1960s look of glitz and glam, even holding a tiny handbag as an accessory to her outfit. She attended the party at CATCH Las Vegas thrown by none other than George Clooney.
George Clooney – Flight Captain
George Clooney was the host of the Casamigos Halloween party at CATCH Las Vegas at ARIA Resort and Casino. Donning a dashing pilot’s outfit, Clooney was sure to be a great host to the hundreds of celebrities who attended. He’s been known to be quite the prankster, and the evening was no exception: he pretended to be a real captain of a flight carrying his friends! At age 57, we bet he was just happy to get away from his toddler twins for a few hours! Who else dressed as a pilot…?
Joey Fatone and Izabel Araujo – The Shining Twins
These two dressed as the terrifying twins from the 1980 horror film The Shining. The famous duo (the twins) have been the inspiration for Halloween costumes for 30 years, and Fatone and Araujo were no exception. The American singer and actress looked far from scary with their blue dresses and black wigs, but hilarity trumps fear in this case! The two were sure to catch a drink together while kicking back and enjoying their time at Clooney’s bash.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas – Morticia and Gomez Addams
This engaged cute couple spooked us all by dressing as the famous couple from The Addams Family. Morticia and Gomez Addams are two lovable characters that made spooky sexy and the X-Men star and singer have their work cut out for them! We look forward to seeing many more couple’s outfits from them in the future.
Lauren Jauregui – Harley Quinn
Following 2017’s Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn has quickly become an essential addition to any Halloween party. Originally made famous by Margot Robbie, here we see Lauren Jauregui from Fifth Harmony don the outfit, with impressive results! The pink and blue hair is perfectly matched and she even has the baseball bat to swing around in the event she needs to. If plans ever fall through for Robbie in Suicide Squad 2, we know who to call.
Vanessa Hudgens – Alice
Sporting a house made out of an Amazon box (she disclosed that it was a ‘sponsored’ outfit), Hudgens makes an adorable Alice. She gives special detail to the bunny by her side and her cute hair bob that reminds us of the crazy wonderland that Alice falls into. An icon in her own right, actress Vanessa Hudgens makes a great costume relatable to her followers.
Halsey – Poison Ivy
Another Batman female villain represented at Halloween is Poison Ivy, here conveyed by American singer Halsey. The only onscreen incarnation of the famous villain is by Uma Thurman in the critically-panned Batman and Robin from 1997, but with Warner Brother planning more films in the future, who knows how she might look one day? For now, Halsey rocks the green outfit and red hair – leaving little to the imagination for us with just a few roots wrapped around her legs.
Jessica and Jerry Seinfeld – Red Riding Hood and The Wolf
This comedy power couple dressed as Red Riding Hood and the Big, Bad Wolf respectively. Here they are at the Good+ Halloween party – of which Jessica is Founder and President. Jerry, meanwhile, has been making audiences laugh since the 1980s with his standup routines and sitcoms. Seinfeld is one of the most successful shows ever made and now he drives around getting coffee with celebrities.
Kylie Jenner and Stormi Webster – Butterflies
Here, Kylie Jenner appears again this time with her daughter as they wear adorable matching butterfly outfits. At only nine months old, it was the young girl’s first Halloween and a first for Jenner as a new mother. Kylie Jenner shares the adorable daughter with Travis Scott, and we can’t wait to see even more outfits in the future together as they grow together over the next few years. Freddie Prince Junior and Sarah Michelle Gellar – Margot and Richie Tenenbaum
This longterm couple has been married for a long time for Hollywood years – 15 years and counting! The Buffy The Vampire actress dressed up as Margot Tenenbaum from Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums, with her hubby Freddy Prince Junior matching as brother Richie. These two remain as cute as ever as they remind of summer love n the 1990s – a simpler time!
Rita Ora – Post Malone
Rita Ora attended the KISS Haunted House Party this year as Post Malone, and boy does she do a good job! Dressed as a drag king is very 2018, playing with gender roles and social expectation of what the conventional costumes should be. Post Malone is the Amercian rapper and song producer, and Ora must have had inside knowledge on how to capture his look so well. Bud Light and cigarette in hand, she even has the tattoos across her face!
Harry Styles – Elton John
As a former member of One Direction, Harry Styles knows a thing or two about how to dress to impress. So who better to dress up as than the original British style icon Elton John? Here, Styles pays homage to some of the singer’s vintage outfits from the 1970s with the glitter and glasses to match. The former boy band member has been known to often dress flamboyantly and this is truly no exception – given his past outfits in previous years.
Emma Watson – Wonder Woman
The Harry Potter-star-turned-feminist Emma Watson dressed up as the female superhero Wonder Women, to the delight of young women everywhere. Here she is inexplicably next to Yoda from Star Wars. Watson is an ambassador to the UN who often fights for women’s rights. It makes sense she would choose this particular character, especially in the #MeToo era. Millions of girls around the world can look up to Watson and Wonder Women are beacons of hope and inspiration for young women everywhere.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel – Lego Batman Characters
One of Hollywood’s biggest power couples chose an amazing family outfit with their young son. As if dressing up as superheroes weren’t enough, the family went one step farther and turned themselves into Lego characters. The attention to detail – including the hands and square legs – makes you almost forget we are looking at humans! It’s a sweet touch to let their young son be the Dark Knight and themselves back supporting roles.
The Baldwin Family – Astronauts
Here we can see an entire family fly to the moon! Alec Baldwin et al all collectively wear the outfits on a family outing of trick or treating in the city. Baldwin’s young children look delighted as they ventured out the house and into the city, and beyond! This isn’t the first time the family has dressed up together – one year they were The Incredibles and another they were the family in The Wizard of Oz – adorable!
Steve Aoki and Nicole Zimmermann – Jack and Sally
Another iconic duo from the scariest Christmas film ever made, Steve Aoki and Nicole Zimmermann appear as characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. While attending the same party, they sported the perfect couple’s outfit. They donned another duo of characters made popular by Tim Burton. In a throwback to one of Burton’s films, they looked like they were having fun. Have you seen the film, and do you think they did a good job with their costumes?
Diddy – Pilot
Much like George Clooney and pals, rapper Diddy decided to don the pilot’s outfit for Halloween this year. The 49-year-old singer has gone by many names over the years – Puffy, Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, and now Diddy – although now he can add Captain to his list! The Press Play singer is always out to impress and his 2018 Halloween costume was no exception.
Paris Hilton – Unknown
What would a party be without Paris Hilton? The famous-for-being-famous IT girl is almost guaranteed to make an appearance at any party with more than 50 celebrities in attendance. With purple bunny ears and a short blue dress, Hilton makes it known that she still has the style and sexiness to make herself the center of attention, strutting a pose and cheeky wink to cameras. Who else could get away with those high top shows? That’s hot.
