Arnold Schwarzenegger Kicked In The Back At South African Sports Event

A man attempted to injure Arnold Schwarzenegger yesterday at an event in South Africa, video evidence shows. The actor and former Governor of California seemed unphased by the incident and even made light of it on his social media accounts.

The 71 year-old wrote: “Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about. I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat.”

The incident quickly went viral, attracting millions of views in only the first few hours. As we can see by the video, it takes more than a modest kick in the back to knock the former Terminator star off his toes.

Schwarzenegger used the unintended viral occasion to promote Arnold Sports, the world’s largest multi-sport festival. The festival, which ran from May 17-19, highlights the sports achievements of young people around the world.

“We have 90 sports here in South Africa at the @ArnoldSports, and 24,000 athletes of all ages and abilities inspiring all of us to get off the couch. Let’s put this spotlight on them,” Schwarzenegger wrote on Twitter. Looks like it’ll take more than that to beat this guy!

Fans on twitter have rushed to defend the actor and politician, describing the incident as ‘a mosquito kickin a rhino’ [sic].

What do you think about the incident? Why do you think someone wanted to injure Arnie? Let us know in the comments.
