We count Simon and Garfunkel as a band and will not consider Paul Simon’s solo work for the purpose of this list. These two had some of the best songs ever, including The Sound of Silence, The Boxer, and Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Simon and Garfunkel were originally together from 1956-1964, and then again for five years from 1965-1970. Nearly 50 years later, their music remains some of the most memorable and meme-worthy stuff out there.
