Warning: this post contains spoilers for ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Only one week after the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame, Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
The sequel picks up moments after the final moments of last month’s film and takes Peter and friends to Europe. The official synopsis has also been revealed.
“Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man™: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man™: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!”
The trailer shows us some interesting aspects of what Marvel is promising us in Phase 4 and beyond. First, the reveal of a ‘multiverse’ opens up storylines such as Secret Wars. Second, it looks like MJ will learn about Peter’s alter ego.
It appears the film will directly reference the last act of Endgame when Tony Stark dies.
Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters July 2 – giving comic book fans just enough time to catch their breath.
